Captured Memories Album Workshop

This year part one of my resolution was to scrapbook with a purpose. With this in mind, I've been working on this really awesome album. Some people do vision boards. Why not a vision scrapbook. Cause you know if the page is done the memories will follow. Much like when you get our family pictures done and coordinate the outfits to match your favourite paper pack. You know who you are..... it's OK I do it too.  I thought this would be the perfect project to get you started on your very own 2017 vision album.  This can also be used as a year in review album.

When looking through the annual inspirations catalog this one stamp set kept coming back time and time again.
What's so special about this stamp set?
Well it's available in three languages for one and is a great way to keep track of monthly memories.

That's when the album concept starting dancing in my head.

Instead of "A year in review" why not "A year of wonders". I think that if you put it out there and truly believe it's going to happen... it will!

Let's take a closer look!

Every album needs a beginning and as you can see here I've starting to include my pictures starting with January.  January is typically really cold here, it's the perfect time to scrapbook inside and stay warm.
Using the Memento ink, I've stamping directly on my picture to highlight the month.  You have 6 places for photos on the front page and 6 photos on the back.  This page is meant to capture the essence of what's to discovered inside the album.

Starting with January, the beautiful Peacock fundamentals, Sea Glass & White Glitter papers really captured to cold "brrr" in the air.
For my Australian CTMH sisters,  I included an option for January to help you celebrate Australia Day on January 26th....

February is full of LOVE and roses, the Pomegranate colours paired with Black glitter paper gives this layout a very elegant flair.

Late winter is maple syrup time! One sure sign of spring is seeing sap buckets hanging on maple trees.  If you're lucky enough to live in the Eastern part of Canada and some parts of the United State you can't wait to taste “real” maple syrup. There is no way to describe its unique flavor and pure goodness. It’s a natural wonder of the world! Knowing that this is a unique experience of some of us, I created an optional layout for the month of March.  Skiing is another great outdoor activities shared by some many people.

I love to incorporate paint splatters using watercolour paints  and this layout was perfect for this technique.  I used the clear shimmer brush on the mountain tops and white pine tree.   If you like more glam I recommend using White Glitter paper.

April showers will bring May flowers...  The Peacock fundamentals paper was perfect for these boots but what's a pair of boots without a good umbrella.  I primarily used the Flower Market cartridge to make all of the flowers throughout this project, this cartridge was one of my best investment, love the versatility I reach for it all the time.

Tulips are a sure sign that winter is over...  Time to get back on your bike and enjoy to warmer weather. You'll noticed that most of the photo spots are standard 4x6.  This was done purposely to give you the opportunity to add more pictures with our great flip flaps.

I must admit this is not my favourite flower but it's everywhere. Dandelions are at their prettiest when received them from your child.  The first time my daughter brought me a bouquet of dandelions I realised that this flower can be beautiful too.

This year CANADA will be celebrating it's 150th birthday, I can't wait to celebrate with my family and friends.  For my United State neighbours, I created this great USA optional layout.  I've been collaborating with some of my Australian CTMH sisters to create a page for January 26th.  Look for more details soon.

Our summer plans include a visit to New York City, this will be a perfect layout for my album! The circle of stars reminded me of the Statue of Liberty's  crown, not that I'm planning ahead too much.

Endless summer days indeed, The Goldrush and Peacock colours paired with the bright Poppy hibiscus are just perfect for those beach photos or beautiful sunsets.

I love September... the feeling of a new beginning.  I'm sure my kids have a completely different feeling when it comes to September. But this is a milestone that needs to be documented, they will thank you for it when they're older.  This can easily be stitched to a road trip layout.  simply replace the apples with cars, train and automobiles....

October my favourite time of year.  I just love Halloween, maybe this is the year I can convince my girls to wear Sugar Skulls.  Halloween doesn't need to be scary all the time. These flowers really complete this layout getting it a bewitching quality .  Once again the Eggplant and Goldrush colours are spot on!

November is typically the time where we get family photos done, it's a time to be thankful.  The Sapphire colours can look both elegant and casual (white t-shirt and jeans). Already trying to coordinate my outfits with this paper.

And just like that it's Christmas once again.  Pomegranate and Fern is the perfect traditional look for this layout.

Let's not forget the back page where you can wrap it all up.  As you can see the recipe for this album workshop is quite yummy.

So why not get together with a few friends, classes are available locally, contact me for more details and to set-up some time.  We can meet once a month and complete this album together.  This is also the perfect project to bring to crop or a scrapbooking retreat. By pre-cutting your Cricut pieces you can create an entire album in just one week-end, how nice this that ;-)

I chose the Enchantment Fundamentals papers for this project, the paper is available until July 2017 you won't want to miss it.  I spent many weeks on this project so you can have it •READY•TO•GO•  all the cutting diagrams, Cricut Design Space efiles and yes even the CCR are all done.  You simply need to purchase the supplies and GO!

Close to My Heart Sisters are also welcome to order these efiles to use in support of their own business! Yes, this means you can copy/print/distribute these efiles to your own customers and hold your own events using my designs and efiles! The guide was created as such that you can print one sheet per month and add it to your customers project bag.

National Papercrafting Month - Welcome Home Wreath Kit

Yeah! it's a thing.....  and I'm all over it.... For the entire month of January get your hands on this beautiful succulent wreath.  It's so easy to put together. Want it for FREE contact me for more details.

So let's think outside the wreath, the wreath is beautiful but what about a beautiful set of cards?
CTMH Welcome Home Kit
Additional  materials used to create these cards are:

 Love Thin Cuts
Hello & Thanks Thin Cuts
Hearts Thin Cuts
Happy Birthday Thin Cuts
XOXO Thin Cuts
White Daisy Cardstock
White Daisy Ink
Black Cardstock
Black Ink
Watercolour Paints
Watercolour Brushes
Gold Shimmer Brush
Sponge Daubers

The beauty is by selecting just a few of these items you can actually get the wreath kit for FREE.

Here are the basic instructions:
  • Ink distress the dark green succulents with black
  • Ink distress the two tone green with white
  • Ink distress two tone blue with white
  • Ink distress the card based and embossed pieces with black
  • Using watercolour paint added splatters of black and white

Now how did I get so many succulents.  Well, since these are cards I separated the blue ones light with light and dark with dark.  You get 4 instead of  2.  When I was making the white roses, I used the negative part of the rosette and made two more white roses, you can actually make three but the larger one didn't turn out so good for me.  I also used the banner piece on two of the cards then cut sections of the wood grain pattern paper and made two more.  All and all you end up with 7 beautiful cards.  Not the mailing kind, these will need to be hand delivered with love.
CTMH Welcome Home Kit
Card no.1 -  6x6  using the largest succulent
