Magic Potion Treat Holder Tutorial

Like most of you, when I saw this very cute Halloween holder on page 85 of the Fall/Winter Idea Book, I just had to make one. I decided to do the holder part without the Cricut. Need to up my skills in the CCR. After looking around this is what I found. It’s a twist on the Milk Carton Carrier by Jo Dumbleton.  I've also increased the height the handle by 1" extra inch to see it better.

CTMH Halloween tutorial

STEP 1
BOX: cut 2 pieces of cardstock @ 8-1/2" x 2-1/4"
HANDLE: cut 2 pieces of cardstock @ 6-7/8" x 3-3/4"
INSIDE: cut 2 pieces of cardstock @ 7” x 1-3/4”
STEP 2
1. Score box pieces @ 2 3/8" and 6 1/8". Then score ½” from both sides and across the bottom
2. Score handle pieces @ 1 7/8"
3. Score inside pieces @ 1-5/8” from both sides.
STEP 3 – Making the box piece
1. Fold on all the score lines;
2. Cut out the small corners as shown;
3. Make two, 1/2" cuts on the score lines as shown.
STEP 4 – Making the handle
a) Mark the center and down ½”, then punch using a 1-1/8” circle punch through both handle pieces;
b) Using a corner rounder, round off both top corners;
c) Fold on the score line so it comes up. Set aside.
STEP 5 - Inside Piece
a) Make the center of this piece on the underside, place your punch directly against the score line and punch holes in both pieces;
b) Fold both sides.

STEP 6– Assembling
a) Add Bonding Memories glue to each tab (box piece).
b) Take the handle piece, place it in the center of the box piece on the 1/2” fold. Wrap the box around the handle;
c) Add some Bonding Memories glue on each flap of the inside piece and insert in box.
STEP 7 - Putting it all together
Take your two holders, add plenty of strong adhesive on the back side and stick them together.
Voilà, you have your very own holder ready to decorate.
PS:  Before securing your two holders, place your stamps tree image and moon in between ;-)

STEP 8 – Decorating pieces
a) Using the Cricut Artiste cartridge cut out all tags and stamp using black ink;
b) Ink distress all edges of your holder using Black ink;
c) Cut 2 pieces of Sarita Goldrush B&T @ 1-3/4” x3-3/4”;
d) Using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge  p.71 - Spooky Overlay cut @3-1/2”, add to one side of the holder;
